Loch Earn
For further information about Boat Hire and Mooring charges for Loch Earn see the Drummond Trout Farm web site. Boats are available from 9.00am until 6pm, Monday to Thursday throughout the season; 9.00am until dusk on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. The boats are 15' in length and are equipped with 4 hp longshaft engines. |

Please note : We rarely pre-tub the maggots to ensure they are sold in the best possible condition, but polystyrene tubs are supplied if you don't have your own container. |
Live Bait
Maggots: White and mixed colours are usually available. Worms: Medium sized worms, pre-tubbed are always available. Groundbait: Trout pellets and sweetcorn. Tip: Why not phone ahead with your requirements prior to your arrival? |

Equipment Hire We have two 9ft spinning rods and reels for hire and one 6ft junior rod and reel, all with a small selection of lures. We require a £35 deposit for each hire, refundable on return of the equipment in the same condition as issued. A pre booking service is available by contacting us. Charges: 9 ft rod hire £10.00 per day £5.00 per half day 6 ft rod hire £ 5.00 per day £2.50 per half day NOTE: These prices do not include the cost of permits. |
Live Bait is available during the season. Medium sized Worms, pre-tubbed. Fresh Maggots - white and mixed colours. Also Groundbait - Trout Pellets and Sweetcorn. Trout Fishing Tackle "A rod, reel, line, net, nylon, a few flies, a pair of scissors and a permit and you are off. The whole lot can be acquired for £100, so it need not be expensive. If you want to arm yourself with an entire tackle shop there are many locations which will oblige!" |
Game fishing for salmon, sea trout or brown trout and in some places rainbow trout or grayling, can be enjoyed at a number of locations throughout the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. Boat fishing, as well as bank fishing, is available in many of the locations, including on Loch Earn, where bank fishing for Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout is permitted at points all round the loch. Boat fishing is permitted and boat hire, boat launching and mooring facilities are available at Lochearnhead and St Fillans for anglers fishing on Loch Earn. |

The European brown trout (Salmo trutta) is found throughout Scotland in both running and still waters. It favours cold, clean, well-oxygenated rivers and lochs. The species is held in very high regard by anglers. | |
